● 𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙄𝙎 𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙎 𝙒𝙊𝙍𝙆𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙋 𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏?
The objective of this workshop is to learn how to identify through the percussion instruments the different musical styles and the timing in which the dance steps are taking place.

The rhythms that will be shown and taught are basic rhythms, especially from the Cuban percussion and dance.

The students will have the opportunity to play the different instruments. So, they get familiar with their sounds making it easier for them to follow the rhythm of the music on the dance floor.

● 𝘿𝙄𝙁𝙁𝙀𝙍𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙈𝙐𝙎𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙇 𝙎𝙏𝙔𝙇𝙀𝙎
-Chachachá:
The students will learn to identify where the steps of the Chachachá dance fall through the percussion, they will also be given a percussion basics introduction in which they will learn how to play the bell, the guiro and the conga so it will be easier for them to dance and unwind on the dance floor.

-Salsa:
The students will learn how to identify where the steps of the salsa enter and how avoid getting lost in the music’s rhythm through the percussion, this will give them the ability to dance to complicated music like the Cuban Timba, it will help them to get better at improvising too.

● 𝘼𝘽𝙊𝙐𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙄𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙊𝙍
Jerqui Fernandez, from Havana (Cuba), graduated from the National School of Art in percussion, is a musician who specialises in Cuban and Latin percussion instruments in general.

Since 2011 to date, he has worked with several bands in different countries visited, such as Canada, France, Norway and Denmark. He has been involved in various projects ranging from jazz and salsa to the most current and popular Latin American music. He has participated in different events and percussion festivals such as “La fiesta del tambor” in Cuba. And he has also worked as a music teacher for children.

Formålet med denne workshop er at lære at genkende forskellige musikgenrer og forstå, hvornår dansetrinene falder i musikken, ved hjælp af percussioninstrumenter.

Vi vil gennemgå og lære grundlæggende rytmer, især fra den cubanske percussion- og dansekultur.

Deltagerne får mulighed for selv at spille på de forskellige instrumenter. På den måde bliver de fortrolige med instrumenternes lyde, hvilket gør det lettere at følge musikkens rytme ude på dansegulvet.

● 𝘿𝙄𝙁𝙁𝙀𝙍𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙀 𝙈𝙐𝙎𝙄𝙆𝙂𝙀𝙉𝙍𝙀
– Chachachá:
Deltagerne lærer at genkende, hvor trinene i chachachá-dansen falder i musikken, ved hjælp af percussionen. De får også en introduktion til grundlæggende percussion, hvor de lærer at spille på koklokke, güiro og conga. Det gør det lettere at danse og give slip på dansegulvet.

– Salsa:
Deltagerne lærer at høre, hvornår dansetrinene i salsa skal falde, og hvordan man undgår at miste rytmen i musikken ved hjælp af percussionen. Det giver dem bedre forudsætninger for at danse til mere kompleks musik som cubansk timba og hjælper dem samtidig med at blive bedre til at improvisere.

Vi håber, at I efter denne workshop bliver endnu bedre dansere og får en større forståelse for musikken!!! 😉

Cubansk aften 🪇🪘

● 𝙊𝙈 𝙄𝙉𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙆𝙏Ø𝙍𝙀𝙉
Jerqui Fernandez kommer fra Havana på Cuba og er uddannet i percussion fra den nationale kunstskole. Han er musiker med speciale i cubanske og latinamerikanske percussioninstrumenter generelt.

Siden 2011 har han arbejdet med forskellige bands i de lande, han har besøgt, herunder Canada, Frankrig, Norge og Danmark. Han har medvirket i en lang række projekter, der spænder fra jazz og salsa til den nyeste og mest populære latinamerikanske musik.

Han har deltaget i forskellige arrangementer og percussionfestivaler, blandt andet La Fiesta del Tambor på Cuba. Derudover har han arbejdet som musiklærer for børn.
